No worries at all… it’s why I’m here ??
The uninstall feature is in the Ultimate Tinymce plugin; on the “Database” tab. You will need to “tick” a checkbox to confirm; then click the button.
just curious, why not just “uninstall” from the plugin menu?
The reason; is because I elected to NOT have plugin settings deleted when the plugin is deactivated. Since troubleshooting is fairly commonplace; and the first step is typically to deactivate all plugins; I did not want the plugin settings erased in such circumstances.
Instead; by providing a custom uninstall button, the user can deactivate and reactivate the plugin all day long… and the plugin settings will NOT be affected.
However, when using the plugin uninstall button; then all database tables with settings will be cleared. It’s the “cleanest” method of removing the plugin; it deletes any database options used by the plugin.
also, if i fully remove that and then install wp-edit will i loose the “data” that is currently controlled by TinyMCE?
1) You will lose the plugin settings. But, in this case, that is good. So much has changed in WP Edit; you’ll want to begin anew configuring your settings… so you are familiar with what you enable/disable.
I did have an “import” script… but again, so much has changed, it’s just easier to begin using WP Edit and set the options from scratch.
2) None of the content; or anything added by Ultimate Tinymce (color changes; font changes; custom content; shortcodes; etc.) will NOT be affected. These are saved within the post content… and will not be affected when switching from Ultimate Tinymce to WP Edit.
Again, please let me know how everything goes.
