    Hi,

I’m having problems whilst using the Post List on a template page. I’m creating a template for service pages and the client wants to select three unique posts on each page as relevant examples. The post is a custom post type set up using the CPT UI plugin.

I’ve tried a few methods for controlling the content of the post list, but these haven’t work

Normally we’ve been using the Post List with Manual Selection as the post source. To replicate this, I tried to using a couple of different relational fields to select three posts and return their IDs. This did not work as my relational fields didn’t appear in the list of ACF fields to select under ‘Or Select Post IDs’. I then tested this by manually typing some IDs into a text field. These were available to pick and did work, but this is not user-friendly for the client later on.

I then tried using Custom Posts as the source. I applied a tag to some posts and then made a field in ACF to specify which Tag I want to use. I then tried to use the ‘Include by: Terms from Dynamic Field’ option. I tried a Taxonomy relational field, but again the relational field wasn’t available to select. I then tried a number of simple fields to return the ID number of the tag, but none of these appeared to filter the post list. If I manually select the tag from ‘Include by terms’ lower down, this works. However this needs to use a dynamic field because it is a template and different tags need to be selectable.

Are there any other suggestions for how I can achieve this? I’m not very keen on having a text field with comma separated IDs because the client will not find this user friendly. Is there no way relational fields can be used to get the ID numbers?
