Control which galleries get rendered as carousels

Great plugin!
I see that when you have a standard WP gallery shortcode on a page this plugin will automatically render it as a carousel, which is really neat.
Is it possible to control which galleries get turned into a carousel on a page? e.g. to have 2 galleries on a page – have the first render as a carousel but the second one to display as normal – grid of thumbnail images.
This could be done by adding an extra parameter or attribute to the default WordPress gallery shortcode like
[gallery carousel="no"]
