I understand the User Capabilities enables/disables functional controls, however is there a way to implement restrictions on which events can be viewed or which categories can be selected when submitting events?

For example, if I have a group of users on my site called “marathon runners” and another group of users called “soccer players,” how do I prevent each group from seeing each other’s events and ensure they only submit events to their category/attribute? Where do I associate the user to their event category/attribute?

I see the calendar respects group membership by default which is awesome!

For the Event form submission, I am still trying to figure out how to require the user to associate the event with a group and only display the groups to select from in the dropdown based on the groups the user is a member of.

I now see that only admins can submit events to the group – how do we allow regular members of the group to submit events as well?

I confirmed this is controlled by the publish_events setting on the User Capabilities settings for the subscriber role.
