I don’t really know how to even phrase this question. I’m using the tiles layout, and I get a layout as shown here, where the upper half of a person’s head is cropped. Is there any way to control where Meow Gallery crops the photos? (I’m also using Theia Smart Thumbnails, which I learned of from Meow Apps, to indicate a “focus point” for thumbnail crops).

It’s a good question… and actually a problem. The tiles layout is very specific and we want to make it perfect, but we will only be able to make it perfect if all the photos have the same ratio, and we will need to add an option for those. Right now, we started to work on the 2/3 ratio, which is the most common. Do you know what is yours?

The current version of Tiles Layout is not perfect with that ratio yet but will be later. When it is, we can work on more ratios, but this has to be done manually (it’s different from those other automatic layouts).

It is a 2/3 ratio, in a portrait (vertical) orientation.

Exactly the ratio I want to support, of course, both landscapes and portraits. Please get in touch with me directly, maybe we could test it more with you and make it perfect for the next release. Indeed, now, it is not.
