Contributor to edit published post, but hold for moderation

  • I have tried searching, for days now, but to no success.

    I understand that with WordPress, if a Contributor writes a new page, the only option is to “Submit for Review”. This is great and does exactly what I want, but, I also want them to be able to edit published pages too. I have given them this ability with the User Role Editor, but it will not submit it for review. It simply updates the live page which is a definite no-no.

    I have tries a plugin, Revisionary, which claims to beat this, but the email notifications do not work and there doesn’t seem to be an alternative plugin.

    Is there anyone that can help me here?
