Hey mate, this plugin looks great, however I seem to have run into an issue.

When I first installed this plugin, my contributor was able to edit her own posts that were already published and submit revisions. However, after submitting her first revision, she immediately lost the ability to submit any more.

This is what she sees now: https://gyazo.com/237ddf54426e168b39c325558003e76d

Any idea where this error is coming from or how to even track it down? Much thanks!

I’m also trying to figure out if the Contributors Can add-on would solve my problem, because I’d gladly pay $25 for this feature!

Wordpress by default lets contributors create posts and submit them for review. Once they’re approved the contributors can’t do anything to them. So I think you’re just seeing the default behaviour of Contributors on WordPress. In fact your contributors should not even have the option to Revisionize.

You might be interested in https://revisionize.pro/downloads/contributors-can/, which will open up the ability for your contributors to submit revisions of other people’s posts. They will still need to be approved. It’s worth checking out.

Hey Jaime, thanks for the prompt reply. I’m not sure how my Contributor was able to make an initial Revision, but no worries. It sounds like Contributors Can is what I need, which I’ll gladly buy today.

Just to clarify, with Contributors Can, a contributor can submit a revised edit for an already published post by an admin or author? Once the revision is submitted, the admin will get a notification and, if approved, the new contributor edit will be pushed to the live post. Will the original admin/author still be marked as the author of the post or will the contributor now be marked as the author?

The author will be maintained – it won’t flip to the contributor.

But there are no notifications happening. This is perhaps a future add-on.

Awesome, glad to hear the authorship won’t flip.

Is there any way for the Admin to see a revision is awaiting approval?
