continuous box-shadow around child elements

Hello, I’m trying to find a solution to my box-shadow issue on this page: https://norris.gabeherbert.com

The box-shadow is on several elements that I’d like to appear continuous: gaps in the shadow appear between them. The header, content, and footer elements are full-width while their children are centered/fixed-width. How can I consistently add the box-shadow to the children?
