For some reason I am now getting a message at the top of my pages (not sure about posts) saying “continue reading x–words totally” where x is digit(s).

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how to stop it? I have all my plugins up to date. The list can be seen here

    Many thanks
    Aventura

  • Doesn’t matter if your plugins are updated, deactivate each until you find the culprit.

I can see the following in your source code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><title>Copyright Notice | Viper Net</title><meta name="description" content="Copyrighted material is used under Fair Use. If you are the copyright holder and believe your material has been used unfairly, or if you have any suggestions. feedback or support please contact us.In making and running “viper net” the team here will do our best (and have done our best) to abide by our contents copyrights (but please note the above) and apologise now if we have failed to keep to this. We would be very grateful if you were to inform us of our mistake(s).<br/><br/><span class="readmore"><a href="https://viper-network.co.uk/copyright-notice/" title="Copyright Notice">Continue Reading--69 words totally</a></span>" />

Either your meta tag is too long or there’s an error in your header. I would check the header.php file and whatever you are using for meta tags.

Yes… any what Jorge said as well.. One of the plugins is most likely misbehaving.

Thanks very much – it was WordPress Ultimate Toolkit but it actually appeared to be a feature of it (or at least was caused by a feature of it!)

    Thanks again
