Using the random shortcode, I have a list of two testimonials that show here.

Each has a “Continue Reading –>” link. The URL ends up being:

    https://www.jongriffith.com/testimonial/%title_of_testimonial%

…which when clicked, cause my home page to load.

I’m so confused. Where is the native post for the testimonial…what is it’s permalink?

Displaying a list of excerpts with a link to a full page of testimonials doesn’t help a reader continue reading a specific testimonial, and creating a new page for every testimonial using the single testimonial short code for each entry seems like a very cumbersome and time consuming process.

??? Not sure where to go from here. I like the way everything looks, but I’m not about to license it if it doesn’t behave intuitively. Can you help?

    Hey Jon!

We’ve been corresponding via e-mail, but I wanted to post that correspondence here, too:

    Hey Jon!

I think you have the Continue Reading (the current testimonial) confused with View More (testimonials).

Continue Reading appears when you are showing the shortened Testimonials via excerpts, and it links to that individual testimonial, whereas View More shows up when you have a value set in the View More Testimonials field on the back-end, and it links to the address you have set in that field.

    Does that make sense?

    All the best,
    Richard

Yes, it makes sense, only the permalink for each individual testimonial just takes me to my site’s home page. Maybe I’m missing something?

    Hey Jon!

Try going to your Permalink Settings, inside WordPress, and clicking the Save button. It could be your rewrite rules didn’t flush on activation — this could be a permissions error (if so, you’ll see a note about that on the bottom of the Permalink Settings Page.)

I hope that helps! I can also login to your site to take a look, if you’d like!

    Best,
    Richard

Saving the permalink page again seems to have fixed the problem, however, there wasn’t a note at the bottom of the Permalink Settings page when I saved it.

Either way, that did it. I suspect it was a problem that stemmed from trying out previous versions of other Testimonial plug-ins.

    Thanks.
