content width after sidebar removed

I’m in staging, almost ready to push to production, but I wanted to remove just the left sidebar from some pages. So I removed the sidebar from my content-page.php file and my content will not fill the container. Or rather, I can get my content to fill the screen but then my shop is all messed up. I have tried messing with the function.php and a few other settings and I’m flummoxed.
