Content vanishing when multiple people edit page.

  • I have a lot of content blocks on 3 pages of a site, and four different people edit them. While we are careful not to edit the same page simultaneously, we are having a lot of problems with content disappearing from the blocks.

    Ex. Mary adds content to each block on the page and saves it. Joe comes in one day later and changes an image in the “Section 2 Image” block. After he saves the page, the Section 2 Image is updated, but the text in “Section 3 Text” is completely gone, and the content in “Section 1 Main Content” is missing all of its <span> tags but otherwise intact. Obviously both Mary and Joe are frustrated. ??

    What’s happening here and how do I fix it?

    I see what you mean. WordPress’ heartbeat API will make sure people don’t edit a post at the same time, so I guess that won’t happen.

    Did you try disabling HTTP requests? (Settings > Multiple content blocks)
