Content randomly deletes when updating or publishing
-
Any hardware folk out there in WordPress-land??? Randomly, when I make a change to a post or page, all or part of the content (text and images) just disappears! Not every time, but often. But only when I use my laptop, AND it worked fine from April until mid-September. I can’t seem to pinpoint any actual laptop event, download or anything specific that changed to explain this issue. (we have been using the same version of WordPress the whole time)
On my desktop system, I don’t have this issue. I HAVE to use my laptop in order to keep up on developing content for this site. I don’t have a large number of posts or pages on the site and it is medium on use of images. It happens on pages that do and don’t contain short codes. The only way I can function is to go into the text tab and go full screen to use what I think is a sub-application called “just write” to update, however, I still have odd characters thrown onto the page replacing quotes, bullets or apostrophes that I have to clean up. I do back up the code before I update so I can copy it back in, however, this is not efficient.
Here are the things I have tried so far:
-Scanned my system using Microsoft Security Essentials and MalwareBytes
-Tried using Chrome, IE9 and Mozilla-all with the same result
-Run disk cleanup multiple times
-deleted internet temp files multiple times
-deleted internet history multiple timesI can’t figure out what it could be!!!
-Using MikMag as the theme. Have only a few plug ins.
-Website is: vitalitydirectory.com…still have it blocked from Google but it is live.
-Using a Toshiba Laptop Satellite L775D-S7132 AMD A6, Quad Core with 500Gb hard drive, 64-bit, 7.48 gb usable memory. No other issues have surfaced using this laptop (my hard drive is not even close to being full!).
