    Hi,

I’m trying to find a way to get a field with more detailed product features than the default Google categories offer.

For instance, there is a product with URL: product/odlo-322981-zwart/
It’s Google category is: Apparel & Accessories

We would like to give this product a more detailed categorization using the product_type field. Ideally we would like to populate it with the breadcrumbs so we can target the marketing more accurate.

The breadcrumbs for this product is:
    Home / Sport / Dames / Running / Broeken /

I tried with Product Category String, but that results in the product_type is missing from the feed.

I tried with Selected Product Categories, but this results in:

    <g:product_type>Dames > Sport > Running > Broeken > Dames > Running > Broeken > Odlo</g:product_type>
Close to what I need, but not quite there.
Can you suggest on how I can achieve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @erwin1974,

Thank you for reaching out and detailing the issue you’re facing with categorizing your products more accurately in the feed.

To achieve the level of detail you’re looking for in the product_type field, you can utilize the value editor feature in our plugin. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Edit Values: In the feed, click on the ‘edit values’ link, which you’ll find on the far right of the attribute row.
    2. Using Replace Function: Once in the value editor, you can use the replace function to change ‘>’ to ‘/’. This should help you format the category string in the desired breadcrumb format.

For a visual guide on how to use the value editor, please refer to this video: Value Editor Tutorial. Around the 3-minute mark, I discuss how you can use this feature for customizing values in your feed.

I hope this solution helps you get the specific categorization you need for your products. If you have any more questions or need further guidance, feel free to reach out.

Looking forward to hearing if this resolves your issue.
