Content Not Displaying in image.php

I’m running the twentythirteen theme unaltered. However, if a post contains a clickable image (that is, when adding the media the Attachment Display Settings is set to Link To Attachment Page) and the image is clicked, thus executing image.php, the info in the database for post_content is not being displayed. The code “<?php the_content(); ?>” is being executed (the ‘div class=entry-description >` tags are being emitted) and there is info in post_content.

Click on the image with the “Wili Wili’s Plantation” sign that has the caption “Horse Parking?”
The database row for id=3281 in the column post_content contains the following:
‘Just up the road towards Turtle Bay is the town of Kohuku. The biggest building in town is the remnants of a sugar cane processing plant that has been turned into a bunch of little shops. The Wili Wili Plantation is a (somewhat popular) food shop. I thought the sign pretty funny.’

The content is not displaying. This has been true since I adopted the theme. I’ve just gotten tired of not having this information being displayed.
