• Hi,
I posted a 900 word post to my “about me” page on managingaddictions.com
    and I published it, etc.

BUt when I look at the page, nothing is there. weird. I go back to edit, it is all there. Hit publish. Go back to view page, nothing there.

  • That’s strange.
I see in your navigation, that you have a page called sample page.
Can you go to your about me page, copy the content, paste it in your sample page and see if the content appears there?

If it does, then you can just rename that page About me and then delete that one.

If not, then I think there must be something strange in the content of your about me page .

I was unable to scan your site at Sucuri…

So,CR’s suggestion above was a good one, I tried to past some text in the sample page, and nothing shows up when I publish that either. perhaps there is some leading code that needs to be in the text editor before my text to get treated as such?

the weird thing is, the content in these content editors looks nothing like the pages, for example, when I go into the editor for the “find us” page there is text that says

“To change the map, directions, phone number and business hours of this page visit the SmallBiz Options Panel. This Page uses a WordPress Page Template. You can edit the code of this Page Template by going to Appearance -> Editor -> Find Us Page Page Template (findeus_page.php).”

Basically, I would figure that if I navigate back out to the live page, this text should be there, and then I change it to make it say what I want..(?) But the “find us” page has a map and a whole bunch of stuff nowhere to be found in the editor. perhaps I am too used to Drupal easy text editor but WP is supposed to be a breeze.

WordPress is a breeze, but I think that your theme may be responsible here. It might have set things a bit differently.

What I would sugest is that you switch to Twenty Twelve just for a few minutes and see if your content appears. If it does, then your theme is making things a bit more complicated and you’ll need to revisit the instructions. — If you want to keep that theme of course.

good idea, I am not too attached to the theme, and I think you are right. I am encouraged to believe that perhaps my hard time is just a bad theme and not WP!
