My PowerPress configuration submits all of the iTunes properties well (Podcast Title, Description, and Author, Category).

But, I’ve noticed that the “Content” field in the blubrry listing is blank. Is there any way to pre-populate this using blog post content or a custom field in PowerPress? Does it use the iTunes Summary Field or the Google Play Description field? Those fields default to using blog post content so I’m not sure why it’s not carrying over.

I just read the sticky to go to the forums at blubrry.com – but I came here because there is a sticky in those forums requesting us to come here…

I will send a message via the contact form.

By default, PowerPress will copy the information from your blog post into the iTunes description sections of your feed. If you have turned on the option to show the iTunes description box in your posts, be sure that those boxes aren’t being left blank by say, accidentally typing or copying some empty spaces into them. Alternatively, it is possible that either your WordPress theme or another plugin is causing a conflict. You can diagnose the issue using the steps on this page:

Sorry for the confusion with the sticky posts. You can post to this forum if you need help with PowerPress.

    Hi Shawn,
Thanks for the help. I’ll investigate plug-in issues.

The feed pulls the description in OK, but not the summary. It seems like the summary is what blubrry pulls into the “content” field. I have the “Optimize iTunes Summary from Blog Posts” box checked.

Filip, I think there is a bug. We just added in the last release the CDATA option, which may be the issue with the optimize option.

Can you try temporarily disabling the “Optimize iTunes Summary from Blog Posts” option then check castfeedvalidator.com and see if it’s back?

    Hi Angelo,

I didn’t see a change – perhaps I’m not updating it properly? I unchecked the “Optimize” box, then refreshed the program listing in Blurbrry.

Castfeedvalidator shows the same message “No summary detected…” and the description is used instead.

In the Blubrry listings, all other data is pulled in except the summary – so the listing shows “No summary available.”.

Earlier in the week I manually pasted in a summary in the “Content” field through the Blubrry episode editor, but I noticed that it went away after the feed was refreshed again.
