• I’ve been using GTMetrix.com to analyze my site for quite some time. Recently, I started getting the following error in GTMetrix:

    Analysis Error
Error loading page: Content Encoding Error (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED)

I’ve been able to isolate the problem to WP Super Cache. When caching is Off GTMetrix can analyze the site. With it on the error occurs. I’ve tried clearing the cache and that does not help.

Other than the GTMetrix problem, caching does seem to work when it’s on, my pages load noticeably faster. But I would also like to use the GTMetrix to measure my site.

Again, something changed because it used to work. I’d appreciate any ideas on how to resolve this so that GMetrix works with WP Super Cache.

    Thanks.

  • Can you disable compression while testing with GTMetrix?

I disabled “Compress pages” and that allows GTMetrix to run but the pages load slower. Also, as you saw in my other post, compression causes problems in at least Chrome on the PC. I have used WP Super Cache for over a year and it’s worked fine until recently. Do you know if something has changed that would cause this? Would it be worthwhile to uninstall the plugin and re-install?
