Content Background Color

How can I make my website background a photo, while the direct content has a thin white sheet behind? And can it be that way on all pages except the home page?
I uploaded my image with half of it the thin white sheet while the other half is the full photo, and I changed the site layout style to “boxed”, but now it is just exactly half-and-half on my website.The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
