I’m trying to use this plugin for the first time and am unable to edit/open any newly created templates with Elementor. I get “Sorry, the content area was not found in your page.”

I have already tried to reset the permalink settings in WordPress many times, but this does not work. I also tried disabling all plugins except Elementor, WooCommerce, and ShopEngine, but no luck there either.

When going to the Elementor blog page on this issue (https://elementor.com/help/the-content-area-was-not-found-error/), the page shows it was recently updated on Jan. 5, 2022. Bullet point #2 there indicates that Elementor will not edit WooCommerce shop and product pages without Elementor Pro. I can’t help but wonder, did Elementor recently block the use of your plug-in?

  • Hey @zigzywno ,

Let me clear this for you. ShopEngine is a WooCommerce template builder for Elementor. So, we are not editing the default Woocommerce pages with Elementor. So, there will be no issue at all to edit templates with Elementor that is built by ShopEngine plugin.

However, you have already followed the most commom solution by changing the permalink settings which didn’t work in your case. So, please check if you have the .htaccess file as per WordPress recommendation.

But after that if the issue still persists, please navigate to plugin’s details page. Then open a support ticket at support center. Our dedicated support team will help you to find out the actual issue by checking it properly.

    Hi Benjir,

Thanks for the quick response! I have since discovered that the issue has something to do with my twenty seventeen child theme since everything works fine when switching to the mother theme.

I do see a .htaccess file in my public_html folder.

    Thanks
