• “The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.”

Is another very annoying content analysis error.

Correct, that error is shown in my screenshot. Hoping the folks at Yoast will jump in to fix this issue that must be affecting everyone who is using the Content Analyzer.

@michaelnorth what if you type the same post Title in the H2 area as pointed out in your screen shot?

Thread Starter michaelnorth

(@michaelnorth)

@mbrsolution Temporarily copying the title into the H2 clears the red warning. But restoring the original phrase which contains the word “vaccine” —”
Yearly Exams and?Vaccine Boosters
” — still triggers a red alert in Content Analysis. Is there a requirement that the title exactly match the H2?Doesn’t make sense.

Keyword Density section of Content Analyzer is also having problems! See latest screenshot after re-installing the plugin (v. 3.0.7):

This is not like what I’ve come to expect from Yoast’s products, which are generally excellent. Not sure what’s going on. Is it a bug or a conflict?

www.remarpro.com members: please test your installation and report your findings. Thanks!

@michaelnorth I just did a test in my testing environment using the latest version 3.0.7 and WordPress 4.4 and it works well for me.

What theme are you using? Do you think you might have a plugin conflict or cache issue?

Thread Starter michaelnorth

(@michaelnorth)

@mbrsolution I’m using the Total theme.

I can’t be sure, but I don’t recall having any problems with Yoast SEO and Total in the past.

I was able to replicate the Yoast alert messages for both H2 and “first paragraph” on my test site which has almost no other plugins and no caching.

I still see:

• The focus keyword doesn’t appear in the first paragraph of the copy. Make sure the topic is clear immediately.
• You have not used your focus keyword in any subheading (such as an H2) in your copy.

(@michaelnorth)

I just swapped-in the Twenty Fifteen default theme — same alerts from Yoast. At this point, I don’t see how it could be anything else but a problem with the plugin. It’s not seeing the focus keyword in the first paragraph or H2.

Default 2015 theme
WP 4.4
Yoast SEO 3.0.7
Chrome cache cleared

What environment are you currently using to test your issue? For example PHP version, MySQL, local install or on a server etc?

The reason why I ask is to provide enough information to the developers.

@michaelnorth

I’ve noticed it only does it on a couple keywords. Some of my pages and posts are fine.

You?

(@michaelnorth)

@mbrsolution I’m testing live on a shared hosting account at SiteGround. By the way, also tried Firefox, same result.

Screenshot of server specs:

Did you try and test what @jbuesking suggested above?

I’m facing the same issue as @michaelnorth.

WP 4.4
Shared hosting from iPage
Genesis Framework and standard genesis theme
Yoast SEO 3.0.7

Never had this issue in the past.

Thread Starter michaelnorth

(@michaelnorth)

@mbrsolution Yes, tried a variety of keywords on different WordPress installations – same thing.

Anyone have any insights into a fix?

I’ve been able to duplicate this issue on three machines, using both Windows 7 and Windows 8, across multiple sites, even with all other plugins deactivated on my test installation.

Too bad Yoast won’t respond without an upgrading to their Pro version . . . that’s no assurance the issue will be addressed.

Anyone have a connection to Yoast, or using the Pro version that would permit some help from Yoast HQ?

Thread Starter michaelnorth

(@michaelnorth)

@karanbindra84 Correct, I do not recall seeing this issue in previous versions either. Clearly some big changes were made in version 3.x and that’s when the problems started.

I can optimize posts without Yoast SEO, but my clients can’t — they need the guidance this app provides to consistently optimize properly.
