Content accessible by manually entering url

Hi,
I have an access level synched to subscribers, and i have certain pages set to only be accessible by this level eg: forum, events etc, however (while logged out) I can still access these pages by manually entering the url eg: mysite.com/forum/, I’ve also tried extending this level and adding “logged in” to the synchronized role but I can still access the restricted pages

Any help would be much appreciated
