• Cannot recommend this. It wants to transfer personal data to that strange suspicious freemius.com service. This is very bad practice and uncommon. make it paid plugin or a real free plugin but don’t sell us for our data.

  • Hi @phalancs,

My name is Vova and I’m from Freemius. www.remarpro.com is an amazing repository and one of the key components which made WordPress such a huge success. Having a plugin or theme on www.remarpro.com is a mixed blessing: while it can help a lot with distribution, something developers will not get much of is data. Our “strange” service helps plugin and theme developers to collect usage data to improve their products, making them better for you and the rest of the community.

The opt-in is absolutely optional, so if you don’t feel comfortable sharing any data, that’s totally fine, the plugin will work just fine if you skip the opt-in.

Same as you are running Google Analytics with your site (most likely), Freemius is the Google Analytics for plugin and theme developers.

If you’d like to learn more (a link from the opt-in screen):

Happy to address any further questions/concerns.
