I don’t know if updating my plugins should have affected it as it was just Akismet, Contact Form 7, and Wysija Newsletters which don’t really affect the homepage.

Image of home page so you can see what I mean.

As you can see from the image, for some reason since the updates the ‘Connect With Us’ container has been doubled up on the homepage. The top one is new, and I have no idea how to get rid of it. In the WordPress Dashboard, it’s the only thing in the ‘Home’ page, but it’s only there once, and if I delete that then both of these container are deleted from the homepage.

The code for the page hasn’t change, no changes have been made to home-template.php and the CSS all looks as it did before the update. I just can’t figure what possibly could have changed. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

  • Isn’t “Connect with us” part of the Wysija plugin? Seems like that’s the first place to look. Regardless, you have a lot of plugins going. Try switching to the TwentyEleven theme and deactivating all plugins, then enable them one by one to see which might be the culprit. One plugin can start misbehaving as a result of another plugin’s update (conflict).

I went through every single plugin and eventually found it. It was WordPress SEO by Yoast, which is a real shame as it’s an awesome plugin. There must be some setting I have on it that I can change, rather than have to find a whole new plugin completely. Thanks!
