Contact Form taking too long to validate

  • Hello,

    Our contact forms take several seconds to submit after the visitor has entered all the information and clicked on submit. This leads to them clicking several times on the submit button and we thus receive multiple contacts from the same visitor.

    We have added in the past, due to spamming through this form, the following code to filter humans from bots:

    [quiz pregunta “Le mot ‘design’ est composé de combien de lettres (saisir le chiffre correspondant svp)?|6”]

    This basically asks how many letters are in the word “design”, the answer 6 validates the submission, would this be a reason for the form to submit so slowly (around ten seconds)?

    Try switching to the default theme, deactivating all plugins excluding Contact Form 7, and clearing all cache data.

    Why you are advised to deactivate plugins and switch to the default theme.
