• Hi, I’ve recently installed your plugin on my site & it’s stopped the mobile menu from working. I’m using the wordpress twentysixteen theme (a basic child version of it). When I deactivate the plugin the menu works fine on the mobile site, but as soon as activate the plugin, the mobile menu just doesn’t respond. I’m testing on Safari on an iphone 7 & it just doesn’t work… it is ok on my ipad on firefox & safari though…

    Please help!

If you’ve added some custom CSS menu styling in the child theme, it may be being effected by CSS added in your theme or another plugin you are using.

It’s unlikely to be CF7 but it could be your theme if your theme includes styling for CF7 forms (many themes do).

Use Chrome Dev Tools to examine the CSS styling applied to your site.

Alternatively the problem could be due to a JavaScript conflict.

Switch temporarily (nothing will be lost when you switch back) to a WP default theme & disable all plugins other than Contact Form 7 to see if the problem goes away.

If it does you can switch back to your theme & re-activate each plugin one by one to see when the problem occurs.

Hi Neil, thanks for the reply… I wish I was technical enough to do what you’re asking… all I know is when I take out the contact form 7 short code from my home page then the menu starts working on my mobile site again… I guess I’ll just search for another plugin – I’ve tried a couple, they all let the menu work but they have other issues… I switched to this one because pirate forms wouldn’t actually send the form on the mobile version… hope I can find one that lets everything work!

    Cheers

    David.

It sounds like you probably haven’t “added some custom CSS menu styling in the child theme”, so it’s more likely to be “due to a JavaScript conflict” which isn’t that hard to investigate following the commonly used disable/re-enable procedure I described above.

As one of the most popular plugins on WordPress, Contact Form 7 acts a bit like a canary in a coal mine sniffing out themes & plugins that cause problems.

Your time will be better spent finding the real cause of your current problems. The problem item may cause other issues that you don’t know about & learning how to solve these issues is a very useful WP skill.
