Contact form opens an email box

Our contact form was put in place by a web designer who is no longer available to us. I’ve made updates to the site but still use the same contact form. The form field errors were corrected however when you click on “your name” or “subject” or any of the fields, it automatically pops up a new email message through my outlook client.
I can’t find any information on why it does this or how to fix it. Hopefully you can help.

Well, I tried creating an entirely new contact form option but that didn’t work. Would it be the tags in the actual coding of the site? I don’t have access to that if so.
Edited to add that I have reviewed the getting started info looking for things that might help find the error.
Because you have this in the page content and the
<a>tag doesn’t have a closing counterpart (</a>).<a href="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]
