• Hi.

I’ve recently changed web hosts to GaDaddy and although everything else on the site works fine, the contact form does not. I build this as a custom theme from scratch a few years ago, (the first time I’ve ever done this), and I’m stumped as to why it’s suddenly stopped working? It’s not a complicated form, just a post to an email address. It references a contactengine.php file, which I can’t find anywhere in the folder structure of the site, but must be present for the form to work?? I feel a refresher is needed here on my part but can’t find this particular problem anywhere on google! The form is not a WP plugin but merely an HTML form with php.

    Thanks!

It sounds like you might have been using a feature of your old host. Redo the form with a proper WP form plugin.

A quick look on the google for that missing file turns out plenty results. If you don’t want to redo the form with a plugin (for example Caldera Forms), then you can always recreate the current form with what you find online.

I think I’ll probably go down the plug-in route. Less hassle and at least it will be updateable more easily if hosts are changed again in the future. Thanks for both of your help.
