• Hi

I have a client site I’m working on and their email address is different from their domain name.
    Using Contact Form 7.

Therefore the issue I’m having is that on the Contact Form from field: if I use the client’s current email which is another domain name (separate from the website, let’s just call it [email protected] for now and is different from the website domain name) it comes up with error in the Settings on the Contact Form saying “Send email address does not belong to the site domain).

Surely there is a workaround for this, as the domain name (website) doesn’t have an actual email address and I need to have another email address showing in the from so it sends from this to the customer , and so that customers can reply to that email address.

Please if someone can help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Kristin

Hi, yes I had read this previously

Could you confirm regarding this (this was from your quoted link)

Why does the email address in the From field have to belong to the site domain?#Why does the email address in the From field have to belong to the site domain?
For example, if a mail had “[email protected]” in the From field, but was actually sent from your web server (it’s not yahoo.com), it would be highly possible that relaying mail servers consider it as a spoofed address. If you use an email address in the same domain as the site, you can reduce the risk of being treated like that.

So if I enter a particular made up name in the “FROM” will that still work (as my client site has no email address exactly same as domain name), but the client will see it won’t they ?
    So I can’t do that.

So what do we do when a business doesn’t have an email address associated with the domain name that becomes a major issue for that business ?
Surely there is a workaround here ?

    Regards
    Kristin
