Contact Form 7 working in Chrome but not any other browser

  • Hi there — hoping someone can help!

    Our contact form 7 plugin only works on Google Chrome, not Firefox and Internet Explorer. We get the following error message: “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

    Apparently it’s the “submission was referred to as spam” option under the messages tab in the back end.

    We have done the following to fix the issue but with no luck:

    – Updated the Plugin and wordpress
    – Changed the email settings
    – Removed and Re-downloaded the plugin
    – Disabled our CDN

    Is there anything we can do? We like this plugin because of its tracking capabilities in which we can grab the referrer path of users via the SERP (Search Engine Results Page). If not, can someone recommend an easy contact form that can do this?

    It’s just odd to me that it would work in one web browser but not other.

  • Though the plugin successfully sends millions of emails every day, there are a host of issues that can stop or delay emails on both the sending and receiving ends. It depends entirely on your local Server & WordPress configuration. You will need to investigate this issue for your particular local configuration.

    If you find you need more detailed advice, after reading and working through the above links, please include a link to your Contact Form 7 form plus all your input in the Form and Mail sections of the CF7 interface.
