Contact form 7 v5.5 and WP 5.7: forms will no longer send

    Sadly, I’m having the same issue as several other users. My websites (ie: all of them!) have failing forms.
    I currently have CF7 v 5.4 installed on WordPress 5.7.
    Forms simply won’t send. No error messages.
    No config changes have been made.

    Two example form pages are:
    /general-contact-form/ My general contact form page
    /contact/ My project submission form page

    What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

    This is very weird. All the forms have started working again.
    And yet all the forms were definitely not working yesterday.
    I’ve no explanation for this.

    To answer your query, all my sites (around 25 of them) are based on the ‘Create’ theme by Themetrust.com

    Most have the same list of plugins:

    Both the theme and all plugins use the very latest versions.
    I don’t know if that helps.

    I don’t know if they’ll go offline again today.
    Will monitor them closely for the next couple of days.

    Well, the forms have stopped working again.

    The theme and plugins remains the same.

    I’ve tried activating the default theme and the error persists.

    Sometimes I get a “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” message.

    Any suggestions?

    Update:

    Have added a paid Akismet subscription (just in case it’s a SPAM issue) and changed the form layouts and – for now – they’re working again.
    Will update again if they fail.
    Very frustrating though…
