Contact Form 7 v 4.3.1 The requested URL /wp-admin/wpcf7 was not found

  • I’m helping someone install Contact Form 7 to their WordPress Site. I have been reading about WordPress and about the Contact Form for several days now and felt confident about adding and using this plug-in. However, after first uploading the contact-form-7 folder using FTP and activating the successfully installed plug-in, when I clicked on SETTINGS, I got the following error:
    Not Found
    The requested URL /wp-admin/wpcf7 was not found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2.2.15 (Unix) Server at miracleofnames.org Port 80

    I tried de-activating the plugin and deleting it, then re-installing it using the automated install function of WordPress. That too gave me the same error message about not finding the URL.

    I have searched for hours trying to find anything resembling my problem, but have been unsuccessful, so am hoping someone here can help me out.

    WP is installed in miracleofnames.org/www/ (I’m guessing the ‘www’ folder is the equivalent of a ‘publichtml’ folder used on other servers.)
