    Thoughts:

    1. Does the field in the form have the same name as another field in the form?
    2. Does the SELECT not have a name?
    3. Is the SELECT tag actually inside the FORM tag?

As I said, I am truly a newbie. I don’t know how to answer your questions. following is what I have in the form. While the form does show it (and respondents can submit responses), the first section does not appear at all on the DB

    Are you a runner?*
[select* menu-534 include_blank “” “I have not run before but am interested in running.” “” “I run for exercise but have not competed.” “” “I have run a few races.” “” “I run and race regularly.” “” “I have no interest in running, but want to support the team.” “” “Other”]

    <p>[text text-190 placeholder "Details (optional)."]</p>

How would you like to be involved with Team CMMD?*
[select* menu-534 include_blank “” “I am interested in group runs.” “” “I want to run Broad Street.” “” “I would like to volunteer for an event.” “” “I have a story (and/or photo) to share.” “” “I have skills that can help Team CMMD in its mission (specify below)” “” “All of the above” “” “Other”]

<p>[textarea text-190 placeholder “Tell us your story and include a photo if you’d like.”]</p>

As I suspected, both of your selects (menus) are named the same thing: “menu-534”. Give one a different name.

Even better, I suggest you rename both to something more meaningful like “runner” and “interest”. Just change the “menu-534” text to something else (but no spaces).

Thank you! I assume there is no way to rearrange columns – those “newly added” are far right. Will the data editor help me here?

No, it won’t help will column order in the admin page that views the form entries.
