    Hello!
Novice user.. Just launched new website using X Theme. Everything looked good. Tested the Contact Form 7, and received the error: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later. (with orange border and orange fill). I have tried many troubleshooting suggestions.
    1. Added contact form 7 reCaptcha extension. Refreshed. Still didn’t work
    2. Added smtp using WP Mail SMTP- with Gmail Api. Test email worked (through that plugin)
    3. Installed WP-reCaptcha . Still didn’t work (read someone said to install that).

I have tried deactivating some/all of these with the same results. I initially used v3 recaptua interrogation. Then tried v2. Didn’t work. So back to v3.

I am at a loss and can’t get my mind around this. Hoping someone has some suggestions. I have a couple of other pages on website that use the forms as well. Thanks for any help!!!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi since I have installed a CF7 recaptcha v2 plugin to my wordpress website I started to getting this message “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again”.

I have deactivated and uninstalled the recaptcha plugin but the problem remained.. still getting the same message on all of my Contact forms on the website. Please help

@karelpicha – see I have the same problem! Can I just reply to someone else’s post with “Me too”?.

If you are willing to create a new question, which details your issues, somebody will likely be able to help you there.

I had the same issue as @allure13 on my site with the “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again.” message on submit on the Contact Form 7.

I fixed it by de-activating the Async JavaScript plugin. It was affecting how the javascript for Google’s recaptcha code was loading.

I don’t remember installing this plug-in, so I think it may have been automatically added with an update to my theme?

Anyway, it didn’t seem to have a noticeable performance hit when I deactivated it. I imagine it is possible to leave it active and just configure it to handle the recaptcha, but without fussing about that, just deactivating it has got my form working again.

@allure13 i removed the recapcha and cleared cache…and all worked.

@vish71 Thank you much for your answer, I don’t have recaptcha installed but CF7 was still not working. But when I read your post, I remembered that my site was from a backup, so simply deleting the CF7 plugin and reinstalling it fixed the problem.

if you still have the probleme I solve it by updating my Recaptcha on google to v3 you need also to go back to your site and set up your new Recaptcha keys given by google.

    hey there,

I’m also struggling with this issue for days now, I tried almost all the above suggestions and still no results, and I have everything up to date just to make sure the problem isn’t coming from some conflicts in versions or updates.
    Any other suggestions please?
