Does this plugin support connecting a CF7 form to a MailChimp list? (i.e. so that when a user fills in the form, their details are added to the MailChimp list)

If so could someone provide me with an example of how to set it up?

I’ve read the documentation, but it comes to CF7 it only seems to cover a few advanced topics, not the initial set up.

These are the steps I’ve taken so far…

I installed/activated the plugin and set your MailChimp API key (the green “connected” text is displayed). But after that I have no idea how to connect the CF7 form the MailChimp list. The Checkboxes section just seems to be for adding a checkbox to an existing form (of which the CF7 forms are not included). And the Forms section just seems to be the plugin’s built-in form creator.

I also tried adding the _mc4wp_lists input to my form – <input type=”hidden” name=”_mc4wp_lists” value=”123abc456def” /> (I changed the value to match my list)

And renaming my field labels to mc4wp-NAME, mc4wp-EMAIL, etc.

As well as adding a checkbox – [mc4wp_checkbox “Label text”]

None of these things made any difference.

I’m using the latest version of Contact Form 7 – 4.1.2

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi sipitai,

Have you checked if all the fields that are required in your MailChimp list are present in your Contact Form 7 form? With the CF7 integration, you won’t get an error when you try to pass data from a form that isn’t compatible, so it’s a good idea to check if that’s the case. You can follow these steps to make sure you haven’t missed something.

If that doesn’t resolve your issue, please post a link to the form that’s causing problems and I’d be happy to take a look!

    Hi iMazed,

Thanks for your reply. I followed those steps, but it still didn’t work.

What ended up working for me was creating a test form/list (using the example shown here – https://mc4wp.com/kb/send-additional-cf7-fields-mailchimp/) which worked, then narrowing down the differences between my form/list and the test ones.

The issue ended up being absence of the [mc4wp_checkbox] tag. I added that to my form and problem solved.

Glad things worked out for you! I’ll work on making things clearer in the Knowledge Base. Thanks for letting us know what your fix ended up being!

No problem. If you added a page in the Knowledge Base outlining the basic steps to get the plugin set up with a CF7 form, I think it would be a great resource for people who haven’t used it before.
