Contact Form 7 stopped working after updating WordPress

  • I have clients sites that have had Contact Form 7 working on them for months or years that all of a sudden last week stopped working. They now have a Red Box pop up when you hit send that says: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

    The only thing I did on these sites was update WordPress.

  • check you are using the latest CF 7
    are all of your contact form 7 installations affected

    Most have the latest version of CF7. One has an older version and it is still happening. I want to try and go bac to an older version of WP but can’t figure out how (if even possible)

    If anyone has a clue how to fix this, I would really appreciate it. I have over a dozen sites with the CF7 form erroring out with the same error. I don’t want to have to design all new forms with ninja forms, but I may have to if nobody knows what’s happening with CF7.

    One of my sites is still running an older version of WordPress. 4.5.7, so WordPress update can’t be the problem. Any Ideas?

    Are you using recaptcha? I had the same issue and it disappeared when I removed recaptcha. Check your settings on the integration tab. Mine was messed up.

    Only using re-captcha on 2 sites. The rest don’t have that. Still, haven’t figured out what the problem can be. I don’t even have an idea of what to try next. ??
