    Hello,

I have a Contact Form 7 contact form setup to accept file attachments and email them to us using Postman SMTP and Mandrill.

All of our regular emails are going through just fine, but when I try to attach a file and send it, Contact Form 7 gives me a red box and the following notice: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

I tried disabling Postman SMTP and the email came through just fine (with the attachment).

    Please help! Thank you!

  • Shocked you’ve had no reply to this.

I have this EXACT issue too.

    Poor support.

I also have this exact same issue. A thread I was looking at on StackOverflow, that appears to have been answered by a Mandrill tech support person, stated that the attachment part of the send has to be a sub-part of the message for it to be included.

I wonder if this might be the issue. Anyone with the Contact 7 Forms or Postman SMTP plugin teams listening?

@mclarendan and @rcwatson Thanks so much for getting in touch! So, embarrassingly this was a case where I didn’t have control over managing my DNS. A client of mine was using a separate company to manage it and it turns out it was a DNS issue.

Unfortunately, they didn’t give me much information on what, exactly, was wrong. They might have been a little embarrassed too haha. But maybe that’s a good place to start if you’re having similar issues?

We’ve got everything up and running properly now.

@loganvenderlic Thanks for sharing your particular solution. In our case, we do have direct access to the DNS and were able to configure it correctly for Mandrill’s verification checks to all be “green”. In our web server error logs are a number of errors coming directly from the wpMandrill WordPress plugin. I’m thinking it might have something to do with that. Still, I have a ticket open with Mandrill on it and hope, someday, they’ll respond. They’re typically not very quick to respond.
