Contact Form 7 not working with WordPress 4.6

When I updated to WordPress 4.6, the CF7 4.5 stopped functioning. I would get a “failed to send your message” notification framed in red.
I’ve downgraded to WordPress 4.5.3 and CF7 4.5 is working again, but this is obviously a temporary fix. Will there be an update of CF7 so that it’s compatible with WordPress 4.6?
