I have setup and configured Sendgrid’s general settings with a valid API key with the correct permissions. When I test the plugin within the settings page, the email gets sent and I can verify that it was sent through Sendgrid when I logon to my dashboard. However, when I fill out a contact form using Contact Form 7, the email does not send through Sendgrid’s API (no record of it in my dashboard), and if I look at the meta information on the email, I see that it was sent using PHP Mailer. How do I get Contact Form 7 forms to send email using Sendgrid’s API?

@subtleeffect this is probably more to do with how Sendgrid works. I’d recommend installing Postman SMTP and configuring that to use Sendgrid. Postman changes how ALL emails from within WordPress are sent including CF7. It will also give you details on how emails are transmitted once they go out and logs.

SendGrid actually does change how ALL emails from within WordPress are sent – I’ve actually narrowed this down to an issue of incompatibility with another plugin. In case you see other issues involving CF7 and SendGrid, check to see if the user has iLightbox installed – I’ve contacted the developer of the plugin to try and get it resolved.
