Contact Form 7 Mandrill Issues: Force Native Emails?

My contact form 7 started providing an error to customers indicating that the email did not go through. Interestingly enough, the email DOES reach me but it’s bad optics for the customer who thinks the website is broken.
I’ve searched the internet and discussed with Bluehost and I’m told the issue is that the email is failing through Mandrill which defaults to the “native” email function automatically after failing (this is why I still recieve the emails) and I need code to always use the “native” function for contact form 7 to avoid the error to the customer.
Excuse my ignorance, I am not a web developer. Please help and break it down for a layman pls ??
