• My contact form 7 started providing an error to customers indicating that the email did not go through. Interestingly enough, the email DOES reach me but it’s bad optics for the customer who thinks the website is broken.

I’ve searched the internet and discussed with Bluehost and I’m told the issue is that the email is failing through Mandrill which defaults to the “native” email function automatically after failing (this is why I still recieve the emails) and I need code to always use the “native” function for contact form 7 to avoid the error to the customer.

Excuse my ignorance, I am not a web developer. Please help and break it down for a layman pls ??

    Thanks!

  • We are experiencing the same issue with a plugin that uses wp_mail function.
Basically when wpMandril is installed, wp_mail() returns false even though the emails go through.
Is there any way to fix that ?

    Thank you.

I’m having a somewhat similar issue – GravityForms emails are being sent via default email service (Outlook.com on BlueHost) rather than being sent via Mandrill. The consequence is that addresses which are blacklisted in our Mandrill account are still receiving emails via the default mail service.

Does anyone know how to prevent this default service from ever being used, so that emails are either successfully sent via Mandrill or not sent at all?
