Contact Form 7 Mail tags not wokring

    Since the latest upgrade, my forms have stopped working. They send Ok and I receive them but the Mail tags do not populate with the data that the user fills in on the form. Rather, you just get the mail tags reprinted

    Any ideas how to fix the issue

  • Your host provider is 1&1 Ionos, right? The issue is caused by a new “mu-plugin” called “cosy-address-book” which was added by them a couple of days ago in managed wp installations. I’d suggest you to get in touch with them and tell about this.

    I’m having this same issue, but when I contacted Ionos, they claimed it’s an issue with this plugin itself, not their updates. Any other ideas for a quick fix?

    There are two options:

    1.- Wait til they fix the issue with the plugin they added (cosy-address-book).

    2.- Change your wordpress installation type from “managed” to “standard” from your control panel and manually remove the plugin “cosy-address-book” within ~/wp-content/mu-plugins (take into account you won’t be able to reverse this change and your wp installation will remain as “standard”.

    Hello drakhem, I don’t find the possibility to change from managed to standard. Can you tell me exactly where it is?

    I think I found it… but it looks pretty complicated…

    Are there any caveats to changing from managed to standard? I am also on IONOS and have been banging my head over this issue since their last forced update.

    I had the same problem and I’ve managed to get IONOS support to disable the “mu-plugins” folder and this seems to have worked for me.

    I had to redirect the support team to this thread for them to take a look at this issue.
