Contact Form 7 Looks Terrible

    So, I’m new to all this and have no idea how to fix the issue I’m having. Our website is using the Awake theme, and I wanted to add a field for a phone number to our contact form. I’m using Contact Form 7, and I have the field added in but the formatting is terrible. Everything is cramped together and looks like there aren’t any real breaks between the fields – they just go to the next line when there’s not enough space if that makes sense.

    Looks unprofessional, right? How can I fix this? You can barely tell where to put what information right now.

    Just wanted to update: I added ‘<hr>’ tags to the main settings page before and after each “heading” (ie, “Your Name”, etc) and it made the spacing work without even having weird lines across the page because I think my theme remove the actual lines from showing up or something. Not sure why that worked but it did. I’d still love to know how to fix the problem at the source though if anyone can help me! The problem was that it looked approximately like this:

    Your Name (required) [________(box)_______] Your Email
    (required) [____________________] Your Phone Number
    [____________________] Subject
    [____________________] Your Message
    [___________(big box)_________________________________]

    When really it should have at least been one title and one text box per line or the way it is now with one title then the corresponding box below it. Without changing it myself, everything was mixed together and unclear.

    You need to start editing your theme’s CSS. Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

    Thanks – so is the issue happening just because the theme is conflicting with the plugin?
