• Hi,

Recently we are facing a serious problem about the contact form.

when we open our contact form page
(https://blog.tingyistudio.com/contact/), and tried to fill out the form and do the test.

We found that it goes well on the android phone and Google chrome webpage. However, when we open the page by Firefox, after we fill out the form, press submit, it keep showing spanning mark like sending the message unsuccessfully!

However, it actually did send to us, because we will receive the information, because we will receive the client’s contact info so many times.

This situation will let our clients think that the contact form message did not go through and unsuccessfully. Can you please help us look into it? What’s going on? Thanks.

Probably a theme issue. Try switching to the default theme.

    Hi Takayuki,
Thanks for your reply. However, we have been using the same theme before. And this is our first time to face this problem. Can you think of any other reasons that may causes this issues? We have contacted the theme company before, and they told us it will be the plug in contact form issue.

So…can you help us to fix the problem? Thanks. Appreciate it!

This is what I found at the top of each AJAX response of Contact Form 7. Of course it is corrupting the JSON data. It’s clear that this is the direct cause of the issue you’re seeing.

The same link is also found in the HTML source of front-end pages of your site. I suppose this link is added for the purpose of link building (obviously black hat one).

I don’t know who has added the link, but in the contact page, it was inserted into a div element that the theme handles and it was only content of the div, so I thought it’s most likely that the theme added it. I may be wrong about this, but you can make it clear by switching theme temporarily.

    Hi Takayuki,

Thanks for getting back to us. To be honest, we are not very familiar with the code. But still want to clarify the problem so we can fix it.

Based on your response, this means that we can solve the problem by switch the theme? What if we re-install the theme, will the website back to normal? And we will change the password after all this.

    Thanks.

I don’t know. It’s your site so you need to investigate it. Switching theme is just the first step to make clear where the problem is happening. If the problem stops after switching theme, it indicates that the theme is the most likely cause of the problem. If not, then check plugins.

Basically switching theme doesn’t affect the theme configuration in DB, so you’ll see the same configuration after you switch back to the current theme.
