• I’ve have been using the plugin successfully for emails. I’ve followed the instructions to create an upload form. The upload form sends an email if I don’t attach a file. If I attach a file and then click send, it just hangs. I’ve tried to sending a 15kb file and that didn’t work. The ‘a wpcf7_uploads’ folder is in ‘wp-content/uploads’. What am I missing?

  • Try deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme.

I’m also having the same problem.
When sending an attachment (71kb) and you click submit, the send arrow keeps spinning and nothing happens (the form works fine without an attachment).
The ‘wpcf7_uploads’ folder exists and is writable. I’ve tried deactivating all other plugins and using the default theme – but it still hangs.
    Any help much appreciated.

I am having the same issue with 1 difference, files under approximately 1.9mb upload just fine, but anything larger (even 1.95mb or 2mb) will not upload, the loading icon just spins continuously. I also have turned off all other plugins and reverted to the default theme and had no luck. And it can’t be the folder because smaller files upload just fine. Any ideas?

EDIT: It is also not a server issue, I have checked my php.ini to be sure all file size limits are large enough to accommodate the files I’m trying to send.

@spurwing & @kfrey12: Your issues are not the same as the original poster’s. Please post your own topics.

@kfrey12: did you indicate a file size? if not it defaults to 1mb. the issue of larger sizes is pretty common. you can find lots of different variation of posts and solutions if you do a search on here.

@esmi: how is @spurwing’s issue different than mine?

@takayuki miyoshi: so when i deactivate all my plugins and switch to my default theme and find the conflicting plugin or theme, then i have to make a choice whether to use your plugin or the other plugin or the theme? i hope that’s not the case…but i guess life is full of tough choices.

@baokhangluu: I did indicate a file size. I set the size to 3mb, and the file I’ve been attempting to upload is just under 2mb.

@baokhangluu my issue is the same, not sure why @esmi thinks it’s not?

Still struggling with this, I have tried everything and using the default theme and no other plugins still doesn’t fix the problem.

Anyone got any other suggestions? I’ve followed all the instructions that @baokhangluu included. Thanks

Difference in file sizes. Possibly different hosts, servers, WordPress version, theme and plugins.

You should really try this, guys.
Replace (e.g. via FTP) the jquery.form.js file in the plugins/contact-form-7/ folder with the older one, which you get from this thread I linked.

    This worked perfectly for me.

@wpp4me, you are such a Good Samaritan! thank you so much for taking time out of your day to come to this post and share the solution. it fixed my issue! MANY MANY MANY THANKS!

I tried the above but unfortunately it didn’t work for me, anybody else have any other ideas?

Thank you wpp4me – that worked wonders!! ??

I found this thread while researching what appears to be the same problem. I have been using Contact Form 7 for about a year for resume submission. Uploading a resume is required on my form. It stopped working last week. Just before it stopped working I had upgraded Contact Form 7 to 3.0.2.1 from (I believe) 3.0.2 (but it was definitely no older than 3.0.1) and I upgraded WordPress to 3.3.1 from 3.3. There have been no other concurrent changes to theme or plugins.

I can upload no file, regardless of size. I get the same “hang” described above — the rotating arrow. Other forms that do not require attachment uploads continue to work fine.

I tried the solution referenced above from the other thread (replacing the jquery.form.js file) and this did not work.

Other information that may or may not be related: I no longer receive my backup emails (WP-DB-Backup), and these stopped about the same time that the resume form broke.

    All ideas welcome.
