Contact form 7 file upload issue

  • HI,

    I am working on contact form 7. The problem is whenever I tried to upload .docx file; form was not submitted. But the wheel was spinning infinitely. in inspect mode, I find the response for form was 502 bad gateway error.

    But, If I try to upload .doc, .pdf file; all is working good. Please help me whether it is a bug in contact form 7 or is there any solution is available to resolve.

    Yes, I have added the file types (doc|docx|pdf) in form file shortcode, even I have tried with various scenarios. In all of that docx was throwing 502 bad gateway error.

    Having the exact same issue. Have confirmed everything the previous poster says.

    I heard these issues related with godaddy’s policy for security or some sort which I clearly don’t know.

    what could be your permanent solution for these issues?

    I invite the plugin author to test this problem for himself at:

    Contact Form 7 is currently set to NOT accept .docx, but if you do try to send one you get the spinning arrow and no error message, and the page locks up for quite a while.

    Any other file format NOT allowed that you try to send will successfully give you the error message that the file format is not allowed.

    Additionally, if you set Contact Form 7 to accept .docx file types, the same spinning arrow and lock up of the page occurs where as other allowed file types go through just fine.

    I have already removed all plugins and used only the WordPress 2016 theme to isolate this and make sure it is not a result of other plugins or my child-theme. The same issue still occurs.

    Happy to help trouble shoot this if you tell me what you need.

    Would appreciate some movement on this and my client is happy to donate if that’s what it takes to get this resolved.
