• hello?
I am using contact form 7 for my website. it has been working fine since last month. i don’t know the reason why it stops working now. when i try to send email from the contact us page it displays a message that says “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” and the message is a red bordered. i have referred different forums to fix it but i couldn’t. please help me if you come across that before. waiting your responses.

  • I’m having the same issue. following.

I wonder if you’ve tried replacing the wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7 directory with an older version to see if it really was a recent CF7 update that broke it, or (more likely) a change in your hosting or firewall/blocking.

I have the same problem. The weird thing is the form doesn’t get submited and throws a “please try again …” error with orange border only in GOOGLE CHROME and IE 8 (didn’t tried other IE versions). In Mozilla works fine. I started testing with older versions down the line until I reached version 4.1.2 which works fine in all browsers. Something happend at version 4.2 and up.

I deactivated all plugins and used the good old twenty-twelve theme just to be sure I limit the posibility of failure due to faulty code from other plugins I use along.

I am having a similar issues on one of my two wordpress sites. They share the same host, theme, and third party plugins. I deleted and Contact Form 7 and reinstalled–the issue persists.

    Any thoughts?

I just started having this same issue as well. Has anyone been able to solve it? I have the from email using @mydomain.com as the email address and other sites on the same server are working fine. Deactivated all plugins as well.

My husband was working on this and the problem seemed to be with the password that was changed on the email account. The owner of the website changed the password without us knowing and that somehow messed it up.

thank you all for your replays but i haven’t fixed it yet. my hosting server is godaddy. if it helps the form section of my CF7 is:
    <p>Your Name (required)
    [text* your-name] </p>

    <p>Your Email (required)
    [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>Subject
    [text your-subject] </p>

    <p>Your Message
    [textarea your-message] </p>

    <p>[submit “Send”]</p>

and i have filled the mail section as:
    TO: [email protected]
    From: [email protected]
    subject: [your-subject]
    Additional headers: empty
    message body:
    From: [your-name] <[your-email]>
    Subject: [your-subject]

    Message Body:
    [your-message]

this is the way i have filled my CF7 setting.
please forward me your responses if i have to make a change in my CF7 setting.

    Yours sincerely,
    shagos

I just installed a clean version of wordpress 4.3, installed only contact form 7 and nothing else, tried using the default form with the email address changed to my domain. Getting the same error, is there an issue with the current version of Contact Form 7 right now?!?! This has always worked for my in the past on BlueHost…

I was able to resolve the issue by changing the default email routing from local to remote.

@shagos – I’d recommend you check smbe0101’s suggestion – this has helped many people that use GoDaddy.
