    Hi,

Your contact form 7 is working well for us on other sites. Thank you for the great work.

I am working on a staging site, using the contact form in the footer of each pages of my site. After clicking “submit” the message appearing is: There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

Which settings might I have to check? This is the shortcode: ([contact-form-7 id=”11140″ title=”Get Monthly ASE Tips”])

If the error is related to the fact that it is a staging site, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Jana

  • Hey, Jana, there could be a compatibility issue with your theme and/or plugin(s) that you have on your site.

There could also be an issue with what version of the plugin you’re currently using.

    Hey Ian,

Thanks for responding. Mhh, this is a brand new site started by a developer, the version of the Contact Form 7 plugin is Version 5.6.3.The theme is Astra Child and there are 27 plugins. The developer said he fulfilled my request to delete all unnecessary plugins but still there are that many.

The usual answer is to disable all plugins and enable one by one to test. Is this really the way to go to check?

I have not done this before, so just checking.

    Hey again Ian,

If this is any helpful to the plugin provider:

I found the conflict, it was the WP Mail SMTP plugin that would not allow the form to be submitted.
