Yes The host provider is 1&1 Ionos. Can you please tell me that what is the issue. Why i
getting like this message. Thanks in advance.

As far as I can tell whats causing the issue is a “mu-plugin” called “cosy-address-book” which was installed by Ionos on managed wordpress installations a couple of days ago.
In these kind of installations you usually don’t have the rights to remove these plugins so you should probably contact them.

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply fast & for the help. I also think the same after the overview my WordPress directory which have the above plugin are installed. Thanks again for the quick help.

All, had the exact same problem and talked with 1&1 IONOS today over the phone. It is confirmed that the latest update of the WP Managed instance (15th of March) contains this plug-in (that you can’t see from your admin interface) and that messes up ContactForm7. Removing this “mu-plugin” called “cosy-address-book” fixed the issue. Thanks Drakhem.

thank you for the useful hints Drakhem and grunser. Did 1&1 ionos remove the plugin, or did you have to do it? And is it just the folder with the plugin or also the php-document in the mu-plugin-folder? Thank you for your support ??

    Hello,

I got the Same Problem with ionos.
I found via Google the plugin “wp File Manager”.
Now i can See the wp Directory and found the mu-plugins.
But I am not sure if I can delete the folder by myself, There is no point for it. Would IT be a solution to Use the “hide (preference)” point?
    Thank you.

An other idea as I Do not have delete rights. I am able to create New folder and rename the “mu plugin” folder.
I would change the Name of the original “mu plugin” folder and create a new folder with the Name “mu plugin”. Thank i would copy (via download upload) all content of the old mu plugin folder beside the cosy adress book.
    Would this Run?
Sorry, I am a Beginner with this and I won’t destroy my wordpress/Website.

    Thank you.

Hello, I renamed the folder mu-plugins and contact-form started to work again. I created a new folder as you said, named it mu-plugin and copied all the content except for cosy-address-book but then the website didn’t work anymore because it was missing the cosy-plug-in, so I deleted the new folder again. I wonder if renaming the mu-plug-in folder will effect the website working properly… Till now I don’t see any problem.

I renamed the folder mu-plugins and contact-form started to work again

This confirms clearly that a problem lies in the mu-plugins folder on ionos hosted sites.

Good news: I created again a new mu-plugin folder and copied all the content except for the folder cosy adress book and the cosy-address-book.php and the website works. Before I did a mistake copying the php!
    So actually Marco’s solution works.

    Great ??
    I will Do the Same.
Hopefully ionos Updates to clear the Bug (if There will come any) won’t destroy everything.

If they don’t find a solution, we will be obliged to rename the folder and make a new one without cosy-address everytime there is an update…

I created again a new mu-plugin folder and copied all the content except for the folder cosy adress book and the cosy-address-book.php and the website works.

This further confirms the problem is created by a “mu-plugin” called “cosy-address-book” which was installed by Ionos on managed wordpress installations a couple of days ago as originally suggested by @drakhem.

I recommend that all people with ionos hosting experiencing this problem, contact ionos support and refer them to this post.

I contacted the support, but no response so far. But I wouldn’t change something in the folders with Managed WordPress, because version 5.2. of WordPress is already anounced. And with the next update the same problems might occur. Is Contact 7 already tested with version 5.1.1? As far as I seefrom the plugin-list, it’s not, it’s last tested 3 months ago? And for that reason it makes it easy for providers like 1&1 Ionos, to blame Contact 7 maker?
