• Hello,

I’m new to WP and am trying to figure things out and I am having trouble with Contact Form 7.

When I fill out the form and send it, (I have a bunch of fields) I get the email, but I don’t get any data from the form.

Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your help!

This is what I get in my email after I hit send:

    From: test <[email protected]>

Hello, This is still an issue. Is there anything I need to do differently?
    Thank you for your help!

Open up the Contact Form in question (i.e. on the backend open up Contact Form and select the contact form to edit).

Once you have the contact form edit screen for that form, look at the bottom at the Mail section. On the right side you’ll see a panel that says “Message Body” and you’ll see exactly what the contact form will send as an email.

I bet at this point you’ll realize what’s missing – your additional fields are not in the Message Body! So take the fields codes you need (i.e. [your-field-name]) and put them into that Message Body section.

Test and confirm that the fields are being sent. And you should be good!

I’m sorry, this is not making sense to me.

I don’t know what codes I need. I tried adding this to the message body form to no avail. I don’t know what needs to go into the message form.

    Market:
    [your-market]

I’m sorry, I just don’t understand how to get the data from the form into the message.

    Thank you for your help.

I figured it out. I needed to hit generate tag, and follow the prompts and copy what the ‘generate tags’s section tells me to copy into the message form.

    Thanks for your help!

Your welcome! Glad you got it resolved.
