• Hi,

I recently updated Contact Form 7 (Version 4.4).

I discovered that the majority of my forms got an error since Contact Form 7 added a feature called “configuration validator”.

The Configuration validator gives me an error when I use a different domain in the “From-field” than the website itself.

Is it possible to disable the “configuration validator” in Contact Form 7?

I would like to set the From address using the inputed value from the visitor.

  • I would like to disable this too. Very annoying that that error message keeps popping up.

My mails actually does not reach me when Im using a different domain. Does it work for you?

This validator is a huge distraction for a developer in the process of developing prior to live launch at a point in time the business is not yet in the loop and use of the contact form is for testing prior to live launch. How about a radio button to dismantle validation until the website is live?

@marray: Using a different domain for the From email address works for me but I suspect that this varies on a host-to-host basis. I actually prefer to use the Sender’s addy as the From address when possible as it means you can hit Reply-To in an email client without any messing about.

I’d also like an option to hide/disable the configuration validator message.

Hear, hear! All of the “error” messages I am showing on a large network site are false positives. (Such as the email address is a different domain from the site when it isn’t.) Please provide the ability to ignore all errors or at least dismiss specific errors when we know they are incorrect or otherwise not a problem.
